Capay Valley Almond Festival Activities Scheduled for Sunday, February 27, 2022

The 107th Capay Valley Almond Festival in February is always a fantastic time to admire the incredible flowering of the Capay Valley almond trees and celebrate the rich heritage of the valley.

The Esparto Regional Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the activities for the 107th Annual Almond Festival of the Capay Valley on Sunday, February 27, 2020. This year’s parade has been postponed to 2023.

There are many events and activities in the Capay Valley including something for every member of the family. Don’t forget that you can pick up your PASSPORT for city stamps at one of the 5 PASSPORT locations listed below. Get your passport stamped at 4 of the 5 locations and submit your completed PASSPORT at any of the 5 locations to enter the Town Stamp Contest.

Here are the activities for the day, starting at the top of the valley, in RUMSEY and ending in SPARTO. Note Saturday activities are noted.

RUMSEY ACTIVITIES includes a PASSPORT location in historic Rumsey Hall. Events include music from Fred McCarty and Company, food and drink, including the wildly popular wood-fired pizza, mini burgers and coleslaw, homemade baked goods and locally grown produce.

GUINDA ACTIVITIES includes a PASSPORT location at the Corner Market. You can buy Grammy Wyatt’s famous almond rocha, Nona’s nut rocha, and homemade almond ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, and almond rocha) at Western Yolo Grange. Lunch and drinks will be available. The vendor fair is from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The rustic BBQ and communal farm kitchen and corner store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Rustic BBQ and Commons will feature music from the Truckaderos and the Papa Day Blues Band.

The Guinda Volunteer Fire Department will be selling their very popular oysters, sausages and other special BBQ treats along with various beverages.

TABER RANCH will play music for the Bottom Dwellers from 1-4 p.m. in their tasting room and offer wood-fired pizzas for purchase all day.

BROOKS ACTIVITIES includes a PASSPORT location at the Seka Hills Olive Mill & Tasting Room, hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. With live music by The Hey Nows (11 a.m. – 2 p.m.). Visits to the almond blossom farm, from noon to 2 p.m. Buckhorn Grill food truck.

CAPAY ACTIVITIES includes a PASSPORT location at the Road Trip Cafe and the Honey Store across the street. The Road Trip Cafe will feature live music provided by Crossman Connection on Saturday 2/26 and the Fryed Brothers Band on 2/27. Noon – 4 p.m.

ESPARTO ACTIVITIES include a PASSPORT location in the Esparto Regional Chamber of Commerce tent. Stop at the Chamber tent for information on the day’s activities.

SPARTO HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA: The Future Farmers of America (FFA) breakfast is from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and is open to people of ALL ages.

LIVRES EN FLEURS – Sale of books at the Regional Library of Esparto next to the park.

SPARTO PARK: Activities featuring over 50 vendors, carnival rides, entertainment and games for children, and the CAR SHOW sponsored by the Madison Fire Department. Vendor time is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Master gardeners will provide training on bee pollination.

— 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Attend the EHS FFA breakfast

— 9:30 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Visit of the Park and the squares of Esparto

— 10:15 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Photo session in the park

— 11:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Visit of the Road Trip Bar & Grill

— noon – 12:45 p.m. Visit Rumsey

— 1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Visit of Guinda

— 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Photo session in the park

MUSIC at SPARTO on the PARK: La Bande des Amis at 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Grooveline from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come and enjoy the music.

The VFW will have Rick Morgan and Terry Sheets from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Ravine at Sixteen will host the Niteliters with their music from noon to 4 p.m.

Hog Canyon will have Conjour Band: 12-4 p.m. Saturday and Last Call Band 12-4 p.m. Sunday.

The Esparto Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their amazing car show at their usual location and offering Tri-Tip sandwiches and drinks for purchase.

5 Food Trucks will be open for business between Esparto Park and El Toro Mercado.
