August 31, 2022 – Has Croatian festival tourism made a successful comeback after the pandemic? Organizers of music festivals across Croatia and the region can breathe a sigh of relief considering what they have been through over the past two years.

As Poslovni Dnevnik/Marija Crnjak writes, the festival organizers could see the end of the summer season without any further closures due to the pandemic, all big and small announced and planned festivals took place. The global geopolitical situation did not stop revelers from the immediate area of Croatia and the rest of Europe, including British guests who had low-budget flights, crucial for carrying traffic. Croatian festival tourism is a huge and lucrative business that generated around 4.5 billion kuna in revenue in the years before the pandemic, and is an important base for the development of tourism in destinations such as Pag and Tisno.

Exactly how the Croatian festival tourism industry has fared this year, and what have been the biggest challenges in terms of organizing and implementing all the events, inflation and increases in personnel problems, will be discussed at the beginning of September during the second edition of the Croatia Beach Music Conference, which will be held from September 7 to 10 in Novalja on the island of Pag. The conference will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, with the support of the Croatian Association of Employers (HUP).

This year, international experts and organizers of successful, well-established and popular festivals, as well as younger and up-and-coming electronic music artists, production teams, publishing houses and all lovers of musical rhythms will be present. on the CBMC stage.

“The aim of CBMC is to bring together people from the music industry in one place, especially those who focus on festival tourism and the Croatian club scene, where they will have the opportunity to exchange new information through networking and sharing experiences with their colleagues from all over. The main guiding idea is that with the quality of the speakers and the solutions that our speakers will bring to the participants, the conference will gain reputation and status among its target group, and will thus include Croatia as one of the main locations in Europe when it comes to events like this”, underlined the main organizer of the conference, Ivan Jokic, co-owner of the famous Noa Beach Club in Zrce.

One of the topics of the conference will be to what extent music festivals have contributed to a successful tourist season and to media promotion on a global level.
